As one of the most developed regions in China, the Yangtze River Delta has strong industrial strength and strong innovation ability. From the perspective of integration, there are three theoretical dimensions to study the development of industrial innovation in the Yangtze River Delta. First, regional coordination, that is to break the administrative boundary barriers and realize the free flow and optimal allocation of resource elements by market mechanism; Second, industrial coordination, that is, the relationship between the distribution and coordinated development of manufacturing and producer services; Third, subject cooperation, that is to stimulate the vitality of innovation entities through system and mechanism innovation and realize the efficient docking of industry, university and research institution.
The Report on the Development of Industrial Innovation in the Yangtze River Delta: Foundation and Current Situation released by the team last year describes the development of industrial innovation from the perspectives of regional connection, subject coordination and link connection. This year, the team selected high-tech enterprises, an important entity of industrial innovation, as a typical sample and research object. By collecting, cleaning, expanding and analyzing the data of more than 100000 high-tech enterprises identified in the Yangtze River Delta from 2013 to 2020, a structured database of high-tech enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta is formed. Based on the database, this report distinguishes between manufacturing and producer services in high-tech enterprises. This paper also deeply observes the development of industrial innovation in the Yangtze River Delta from the dimensions of trend evolution (time series), spatial distribution (41 prefecture level cities), regional collaboration (enterprise cross regional operation), innovation collaboration (industry-university-research institute collaboration), and then forms corresponding views, problems and suggestions.
